In 1816, King Frederik William 3 of Prussia made his cabinet pass a decree that stated all Lutheran churches in the areas under Prussian rule had to observe the last Sunday beforeAdvent as a "general celebration in memorial of the deceased".Other churches outside of Prussia followed, eventually, as well.

In the United States, some Protestant churches celebrate this service of remembrance as "Totenfest."It often coincides with celebration of All saints day.

Well we still have it

Learning Deutch from Deutchland! XD

I've been trying to teach myself German and Japanese. Both of which are very hard to learn. :/
Just one question Doitsu Sensei, but what are the male/female words? O.o

I do love this though, great idea! Just one thing, I can't makeout Wednesday. X)

Nice :D I do it too but not with japanese- wow japanese O:

Well... English has the article "the" so every word has no gender -> everything is neuter.

We have Der, Die, Das - > male, female, neuter. It has a heavy influence on the words and grammar- and the cases! It is not very easy.

male : der Hund (dog)
female: die Hündin(female dog), die Blume (flower)
neuter: das Boot (boat)

Thanks :D

Wednesday? der Mittwoch :)
